Description
With a hinged lid with molded edges and retaining the original internal iron strap hinges, the frieze with channel-molded long edges and probably the original escutcheon and the sides descending to V-shaped cut-away supports, each support with saw marks extended to the apex to form a decorative motif and with a scroll to the front edge. With ownership initials to the sides. The interior, back and underside all display a good dry finish attesting to the unaltered condition of this remarkable survival.
