Description
Dimensions: 43 3/4? H x 79 5/8? W x 28? D
This generously proportioned enfilade was made in France circa 1810. The thick gray marble top is in wonderful antique condition and has a few pink veins that can be found throughout. Two wide drawers are situated in the buffet’s apron. They are embellished with large horizontally-oriented diamonds that have been carved and trimmed in brass. Brass drop ring pulls can be used to access the drawers. A gilt harp with filigree and flowers was cast in brass and applied to the case piece’s apron. Beneath the two drawers are two panel doors. They are flanked by turned walnut columns. They are separated by a large vertically-oriented diamond that is also trimmed in brass. There are two separate cavities that are concealed behind the large panel doors. Inlaid shield-form escutcheons ornament the functioning locks’ keyholes. The case piece is lifted by turned front feet. -
