Description
Pair of monumental Louis XVI style marble-top Commodes in the Maison Jansen fashion. These impressive and finely constructed commodes or sideboards are simply stunning and leave nothing to the imagination. Palatial, 36 inches high and 68 inches wide, in size this pair having nine drawers on the center case each with cast bronze frames and bronze reef designed drawer pulls on top of a bronze-mounted apron on tapering bronze-mounted legs. The top drawers with full bronze work throughout leading to a very thick 1 3/4 inch marble top with gray veins. This one of a kind pair are certain to complete any spectacular setting. The pair having recently been refinished.
This piece is accompanied by a letter of Authentication from James Archer Abbott, Author of 'Designing Camelot: The Kennedy White House Restoration' as well as both Jansen Furniture Books. -
