This elegant chest is a wonderful representation of the design aesthetics of continental neoclassical furniture from the period. This impressive piece has matched fruitwood veneer and engraved cast bronze swans with flora, fauna and serpent decorative motifs. The strong, rectilinear body of the piece stands on tapered square feet. The chest has three drawers with brass escutcheons that lock with a key.
