Description
A very fine 19th Century Regency Mahogany wine cooler cellarette of sarcophagus form and wonderful natural colour.
English Circa 1820
Having obtained a wonderful natural colour, the whole of sarcophagus form with a cavetto moulded hinged top supported on a brass ratchet, enclosing the original lead lined and divided interior. The tapering body having cut corners and panelled sides with inset reeded mouldings and heavy cast brass ring carrying handles, raised on finely carved lion paw feet and recessed castors. Supplied with what looks to be the original working key.
A fine Regency wine cooler in exceptional original condition having finely chosen cuts of timber which mellowed to a wonderful natural colour.
