Description Provenance: Descended in the family of Brigadier General Henry Beebe Carrington (1824-1914) of Wallingford, Connecticut, possibly from his maternal grandmother, Mary Atwater (1796-1845) of Wallingford who married the Reverend Daniel Lewis Beebe (1763-1803) pastor of Woodbridge Congregational Church on February 29, 1792. Reference: Illustrated and discussed in Thomas P. and Alice K. Kugelman with Robert Lionetti, Connecticut Valley Furniture, Eliphalet Chapin and His Contemporaries, 1750-1800, pages 410-411, number 188. This is where the attribution to Rice is made.
