Description
An important Swedish grace or Mid-Century Modern neoclassical cabinet, sideboard, buffet, bar, storage unit named 'Haga' by Carl Malmsten. The piece is in the modern neoclassical style, the cabinet sits on an ebonized base and it has inlays of geometric decoration and stylized plant leaves on the cabinet doors. Inside, there is one shelf and two drawers with the interior of the doors ebonized. A remarkable feature is the use of cross-matched birch wood veneer that will reflect light in alternating bands of light and dark on the front and side panels of the cabinet. The Haga cabinet was made for the Waldorf-Astoria Haga Suite in 1924. This piece was featured on Sex and the City's final season.
