    Housatonic River Valley, Probably Newtown, Connecticut Circa 1765

    Height: 7 feet 2 inches
    Width: 41 ¾ inches
    Depth: 21 inches

    Primary Wood: Cherry
    Secondary Wood: Oak, Poplar

    Provenance: The original owner was most likely Aaron Sanford, Sr. (1753-1847) who married Lydia Hawley (1731-1798). It then descended to their son Aaron Sanford, Jr. (1786-1872) who married Fannie Hill (1827-1872), to their daughter Julia H. Sanford (1841-1942) or to his son Daniel Sanford (d. 1903) who married Helen Sammis, to his son Daniel (b. 1859) who married Annie Bennet Tomlinson (b. 1870), to his son Daniel, Jr. (b. 1902) to his daughter.
