THE WILLIAM PARSONS FAMILY CARVED CHIPPENDALE LOWBOY
Philadelphia Circa 1775
Height: 32 inches
Width: 35 ½ inches
Depth: 21 ¼ inches
Primary wood: Mahogany
Secondary wood: Poplar, White Cedar
Provenance: Originally owned by William Parsons, a friend of Benjamin Franklin. He was a geographer, and served as Surveyor General of Philadelphia after filling post as Librarian of the Philadelphia Library; to Ella Parsons, Philadelphia; Joseph Kindig, York, Pennsylvania; Reginald Lewis Collection.
Reference: Exhibited at the Philadelphia Museum of art 1928-1934; Illustrated in the Joe Kindig, Jr. advertisement, Antiques, February, 1935. Bernard & S. Dean Levy, Inc. Gallery Catalogue VIII.
