    A pair of serpentine front dressers by Samuel Marx, Chicago, USA, Circa 1950. These quietly opulent chests by American architect and designer Samuel Marx (1885-1964) feature four deep drawers, each in original griege lacquer with alternating bright silver-leaf (aluminum metal leaf) drawers. Case and drawer fronts are made of mahogany, and the drawer interiors dovetailed in white oak. Made by Quigley. Chests purchased by previous owner from 1325 North Astor Street in Chicago. Provenance available. Each chest in excellent original condition, and has been re-polished.
