    Characterized by clean lines, quality woods, soft edges and intuitive functionality, the Swedish Modern lighting models of Boréns Borås are eternally timeless and timely. This specific table lamp model is a delightfully distinctive piece, with immediately recognizable details.

    What sets this model apart not just from its contemporaries, but also among the manufacturer’s own repertoire is its trio of materials. Pairing glass and brass was a classic design practice for many Swedish designers, however adding such an organic material as wood to lighting pieces was still uncommon. This table lamp’s design takes advantage of its materials and masterfully pairs their distinctive qualities such as their textures. The mixture creates an interesting visual effect, where the organic and traditional look of wood meets the modern look of glass and brass. Swedish lighting manufacturers were masters of creating designs with great texture variety as this rare table lamp shows. The glass top wrapped by a perforated brass ring is especially captivating with its patterned surface that is even more apparent when the light is on. The brass lampshade “crowns” the oak neck beautifully and its empire shape leaves plenty of surface area to show off the brass’s beauty. The genius attention to details can be observed in the subtle square shapes found on the perforated ring, on the pattern of the glass, and on the edges of the oak neck. Together, these features perfectly counterbalance the round brass base and shade.
