French 20th Century Painted and Carved Wood Chandelier
-
Description
A refined French 20th-century carved wood chandelier, elegantly hand-crafted with richly detailed scrollwork and classical ornamentation. The chandelier’s six gracefully arched arms extend outward from a robust central baluster, each arm terminating in candle-form lights with painted wax-style sleeves that evoke the romance of candlelight while accommodating modern bulbs. The wood frame is beautifully carved with foliate and acanthus motifs, and its distressed painted finish lends the piece a timeworn patina, highlighting the depth of its sculptural details. Suspended from an iron chain, the chandelier achieves a perfect balance of stately presence and understated charm, making it well suited for both traditional and transitional interiors. Whether placed in a dining room, grand entryway, or salon, this chandelier brings a sense of history, craftsmanship, and elegance to any space.
