Description
A refined 19th-century French bouillotte chandelier, crafted in bronze with its original green tole shade. Classic in form and beautifully balanced, this piece reflects the understated elegance of early French lighting design. The adjustable shade, traditionally used to soften the light while playing the card game bouillotte, sits above four candle-style arms with finely detailed bronze bobeches and scrolling supports.
The contrast between the deep green shade and the warm bronze creates a timeless, atmospheric glow when lit. The central column is fluted and crowned with a small finial, adding subtle architectural structure. Suspended from a simple chain, the chandelier feels both intimate and distinguished — perfect over a game table, breakfast nook, kitchen island, or reading corner.
Wired for U.S. use and ready to install, this chandelier brings quiet sophistication, character, and a touch of historical charm to any interior. A beautifully preserved example of 19th-century French craftsmanship.
Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions!
