Unique and rare Mid-Century Modern Model 4634-L side table with lamp and planters designed by George Nelson for Herman Miller, circa 1940s. Featuring a handsome walnut case with a coordinating and complimenting leather tabletop. A lamp rises from two original square copper planter insets from a bent, rotating aluminum stem, which rotates for proper positioning, and features the original white shade. This extraordinary table rests on tapered splayed legs and contains a single divided drawer for storage. Makers original foil label (George Nelson design Herman Miller- zeeland – michigan) is present inside drawer. A Mid-Century Modern gem, this rare table is sure to spark curiosity and conversation!
Condition Report: Construction is sturdy; wood shows minimal wear; leather top intact; lamp hardware and wiring in working order; but should still be checked by a specialist to ensure local requirements are met, patina to copper planters consistent with age; fiberglass shade has small tear.
