This compelling Mid-Century Modern chandelier was realized in Germany, circa 1950. It represents an exceptional example of the time and place. A cylindrical rod descends from a circular canopy, where it meets a central form, of the same shape, executed in polished chrome. Four rectangular arms extend outwards from the body, where they connect to cylindrical supports (also in chrome) that hold glass shades textured with an abundance of cubical forms. There is a circular chrome band at the base of each shade. Additionally, there is a circular glass panel covering the bottom of each shade, decorated with concentric rings, that resembles a ripple in the surface of water. With its luxurious materials and clean, modern lines, this piece is as versatile as it is aesthetically compelling, blending perfectly with any style of decor from Classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent condition. It accommodates four candelabra bulbs providing up to 240 watts of light. The height can be adjusted to suit.
