Modernist Handblown Murano Glass Elongated Tulip Sconces w/ 24-kt Gold Flecks

This beautiful pair of modernist tulip sconces were handblown in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production. They feature elongated subtly conical shades with scalloped detailing at their tops realized in an iridescent semi translucent Murano glass replete with a wealth of 24kt gold flecks. The bodies are cinched near their nadirs with polished brass bands- that perfectly compliment the yellow gold tonalities throughout- and capped at their bases with fluted orbital embellishments also in gold Murano glass. The sconces offer spherical brass finials at their nadirs which reiterate the round glass forms above, and attach to square polished brass back plates. With their clean modernist lines and beautiful glass quality, these sconces would be a winning addition to any style of interior from traditional to contemporary. They have been newly rewired to American standards and are in excellent vintage condition.
