Description
Italian designer, Oscar Torlasco designed many beautiful lamps, the most well known being the models he designed for Lumi. Particularly active during the 1950s and 1960s, Torlasco’s lighting designs often utilized industrial chromed steel which he paired with more luxurious materials such as brass.
His eclectic designs ranged in style from industrial and Space Age to Italian Art Deco. Standing as evidence of the inventiveness and timeless style of his creations is this set of three wall lights. These lights were designed to provide a sleek and dynamic elegance that symbolized the era’s rich cultural scene in Italy and even today, they exude the same impression to the contemporary eye. It is because of the unique combination of elements that these lights stand out with a dramatic, artistic style with bold, sharp lines and abstract forms. Crafted from brass and glass - the ultimate mid-century pairing - these wall lights boast a striking aesthetic that is based on the sculptural shape along with symmetric forms. With their unique shape, this lighting set cleverly employs the characteristics of its material to create a distinctive and futuristic effect. The elongated lines and gently curved necks are even more apparent when the three pieces are arranged close to each other. In addition to their aesthetic appeal, the lights are also highly functional, providing a soft and warm light that will transform any room into a welcoming and cosy space.
The alluring sense of artistic whimsy of these sculptural pieces is unparalleled. Each piece has a sense of character and individuality, meticulously crafted by Italian manufacturer Lumi to showcase Torlasco’s genius. These impressive fixtures are sure to make great focal points for today’s homes of any style.
