Description
This sophisticated pair of Machine Age Art Deco pendants were realized in the United States, circa 1935. They feature opaque bodies with bars of ribbed lines of staggered lengths in relief descending vertically hand-painted with black chevrons at their ends. Their bodies are separated by chrome bands from the translucent pressed glass bases that feature repeating circular designs as well as starburst patterns on their bottoms. The skyscraper style form of the bases are reiterated in the chrome tops which attach to the ceiling via chrome rods- each of which have three circular embellishments adorning their centers- and canopies. With its clean lines and modernist design, inspired by urban architecture, this pair embodies the qualities that discerning collectors of Machine Age Art Deco absolutely adore. They would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic deco to contemporary. The fixtures have been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent condition. Their height can be adjusted to suit.
