Description
Pair of gilt bronze standing floor lamps
French, early 20th Century
Height 115cm, width 40cm, depth 40cm
Each floor lamp in this pair is constructed from gilt bronze and designed in a Neoclassical manner to imitate the appearance of a Corinthian column. Each lamp is formed from a fluted shaft that is surmounted in a Corinthian capital, above which springs the lighting fixture. Each column shaft stands on a gilt bronze podium, mounted on each side with gilt bronze classical motifs, and supported by a stepped base, which in turn is raised by four lion paw feet. -
