Stilnovo large painted metal and brass twelve-arm chandelier, italy, 1950s

Description
Large twelve-arm chandelier, painted metal and brass, original from the 1950s, produced by Stilnovo.
A series of radially stretched electrical cables extend from a polished brass disc, supporting twelve metal arms. This large chandelier, notable for its theatrical presence, stands out for the sense of movement its design conveys.
The lack of a central support and the seemingly random arrangement of its twelve arms give the impression that the designer allowed Chance and its whims to dictate its aesthetics. Childhood memories are evoked, reminiscent of a simple and naive game where a handful of wooden sticks were dropped onto a surface, forming a small, unstable pile. The goal was to carefully extract sticks without causing the delicate, random structure to collapse. The same genuine curiosity that led to admiration of the tangled sticks in the game of Pick-up Sticks applies to this chandelier. Suspended at mid-height, it invites admiration for the playful arrangement of its arms, free from the constraints of form.
Ideal for placement over a dining table or in a living area, this chandelier provides significant illumination thanks to the twenty-four bulbs that can be screwed into the conical brass terminals at the ends. The 1950s Stilnovo chandelier is original in every part and fully functional.
Dimensions: diameter 140 cm (without bulbs), maximum height 115 cm (adjustable). -
