Description
Designer: Sven Middelboe
Nordisk Solar
Denmark - Circa 1960s
Dimensions: 5.5" H x 17" DIA
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. New old stock.
Elevate your interiors with the subtle sophistication of Sven Middelboe's pendant lamp for Nordisk Solar, a rare gem from Denmark's golden age of design, circa 1960s. Model 74212, with its satin brass finish over spun aluminum, this pendant is a celebration of Scandinavian minimalism, merging elegance with functionality. Currently, we have two of these exceptional pieces in stock, offering you a rare opportunity to own a set of untouched mid-century gems.
The pendant's cylindrical form draws immediate attention. But delve deeper, and you'll find masterfully integrated louvered diffusers at both the top and the bottom. These concentric circle-designed plastic louvers not only create a captivating light play but also aid in gently diffusing the illumination, creating a soft, ambient glow in any space.
Inside, a matte white interior further optimizes light reflection, ensuring every corner of your room is bathed in a warm, inviting luminescence. Complementing its modernist design is a solid brass detail at the top, an understated yet luxurious touch, that holds the cord and enhances the pendant's refined aesthetics.
Dimensions of 17” in diameter and a height of 5.5” make it a versatile addition to various spaces - be it a chic dining area, kitchen island a contemporary living room, or an upscale restaurant. With three E26 porcelain sockets (75 watts max each), this pendant is designed for triple the brilliance, accommodating three standard base light bulbs, ensuring optimal brightness without compromising on style.
Installation is a breeze with the included 6-foot white cord and a 5.25” diameter original white-painted canopy. But perhaps the pièce de résistance of these pendants is their immaculate, new-old-stock condition. Unveiling a time capsule from the 1960s, these luminaires have remained untouched and unused, flawlessly preserved for over six decades. Their pristine state is not just a sign of their quality, but a rare find in the world of vintage lighting.
In the realm of interior design, where every piece tells a story, Sven Middelboe's pendant lamps are not just lighting fixtures; they are narratives of design prowess, history, and unmatched preservation. Illuminate your world with this unparalleled Danish masterpiece. -
