Description
A large lime textured glass and resin convex mirror in the manner of Line Vautrin's "Gerbera" mirrors. This contemporary example is hand made by an artist using antique glass so it is one of a kind. This contemporary, handmade mirror is inspired by the work of renowned Parisian artist & jewelry designer Line Vautrin (1913-1997). During the post WWII era, she created a variety of bold sunburst style mirrors using a material of her own invention, Talosel, which was similar to resin. The production of these mirrors began in the 1950s and continued on with approximately 70 different designs finally documented. In February 2023, a feature in Architectural Digest mentioned how Vautrin's "spellbinding reflectors have captivated the design world for decades." Adding this reimagined and dramatic version of Vautrin's work to your collection will certainly add some "room bling" and joie de vivre to your own home decor.
