Description
New England, probably Massachusetts, ca. 1800-1815.
Eastern white pine with gilt surface.
Over-all in great condition with original gilt, mirror plate is an early replacement. Possibly unique, this Federal mirror has a pronounced cornice above a carved panel depicting a basket with over-flowing fruit flanked by rope twisted columns. The mirror is surrounded with its original black painted liner. -
