French 19th Century Floral Gold Gilt Mirror

Dimensions: 48 ¼” H x 38 ¾” W x 3 ¼” D

This French 19th century gilt mirror is symmetrical to hang in either direction, exhibiting high-relief floral decorations at the corners which leave ample space for the gold to reveal its red bole underneath–adding warmth and texture to the rectilinear design. The molding exhibits a delightful amalgamation of Neoclassical and rococo themes merging stylized botanical motifs and scalloped edges with crosshatched textures. The mirror plate is a 20th century replacement offering a clear reflection to brighten up any room. We believe this item to be in good antique condition considering its age.
