French 19th Century Gardener’s Trumeau Mirror
-
Description
Dimensions: 65 ⅞” H x 30 ¼” W x 1 ½” D
A rather unique and personal trumeau mirror from 19th century France, featuring an assortment of carved and gilded gardener’s tools in the panel above the glass. This entangled amalgamation consists of a ribbon tied in a bow, above a crossed shovel and rake layered with blossoming roses before terminating at what appears to be scythes. Below these sculptural elements is the trumeau’s original mirror plate, streaked with dark foxing to beautifully complement the (patinated) sage green painted back panel. Please be sure to view the detailed images to appreciate all the wonderful features of this 19th century trumeau mirror. -
