French 19th Century Massive Oval Gilt Mirror

$ 6,500
  • Description
    Dimensions: 45 ¼” H x 39 ⅜” W x 2 ½” D

    A lavish and intricately carved French 19th Century Napoleon III style giltwood oval mirror that will instantly transform any wall or mantel. This amazing mirror has a highly decorative oval frame that is truly dazzling to behold: richly embellished with finely carved Neoclassical motifs such as a circumscribing egg and dart pattern, scrolling acanthus leaves, and crosshatched lines, the oval frame also showcases thick and remarkably intact giltwork. The reflection within the original glass plate is still mostly clear with random spots of dark foxing which confirms the age. Be sure to view all the images to get a closer look at the details and current condition of this incredible mirror.
