A French 19th century Louis Philippe mantel mirror in an arched, silver gilt frame enhanced by dark oxidation and craquelure texture. Etched into the frame is an elegant, scrolling floral motif like iris that is interrupted by a few cracks and areas of wear which give authentic patina to the design. Around the mirror plate is a contrasting beaded trim of gold gilt darkened over time to a bronze. There is just one spot of dark foxing in the glass, likely the mirror plate is a 20th century replacement that offers a clear reflection to brighten up any room. This gorgeous mirror will be right at home in many decorating tastes. We believe this item to be in good antique condition considering its age.
