French 19th Century Symmetrical Egg & Dart Gilt Mirror
-
Description
Dimensions: 68 ¾” H x 45 ¼” W x 2 ⅜” D
A stunning 19th century French gold gilt mirror of thick egg & dart molding around the original glass. The frame is of impressive scale, with bold definition between the smoothness of the protruding eggs and the linear patterns outlining them, enhanced by deep red bole underneath. Foxing in the original mirror glass appears as a faint haze with overall clarity in the reflection. Displayed in vertical orientation, the frame is symmetrical to mount in either direction.
