French 19th Century Walnut Mirror

Description
This handsome ogee-molded walnut mirror, c.1820, is from France and features two original stacked mirror plates, a great indicator of age. In the early 19th century and prior, only certain sizes of mirror plates could be produced thereby the need to stack one plate above the other for larger frames. The upper plate exhibits crystallization along its perimeter and there are some minor silver losses throughout.
