French Early 18th Century Church Altar Mirror
-
Description
Wooden church alter with mirror is very old and from the late 1700’s to early 1800’s. Broken pediment top over hanging a domed mirror with a shelf, there must have been free standing decorative columns that sat in the squares of the bottom shelf which connected to the bottom of the overhang. Churches were where the first quality furniture / decorative items were made. In the home everything would be very basic and made rugged.
