Description
This elegant gold gilt mantel mirror from France, c. 1820, was created in the Louis XV style and displays a beautiful, rich patina and retains its original shimmering mercury glass! The slightly curved top rail is mounted with a crest having a delicate wreath of roses amidst ribbon and looping tasseled rope. The rope motif is repeated in the carving surrounding the mirror along with a beaded inset.
