Description
A French Louis XVI period painted and gilded wall mirror from the second half of the 18th century, with quiver and arrow motifs. Born in France during the early years of King Louis XVI's reign, this exquisite wall mirror attracts our attention with its gilded and painted finish, complimenting beautifully the hand carved décor. The crest is adorned with a tied ribbon leading our eye to discover the quivers and arrows that stand out on the delicate foliage. The linear frame is topped with reeded patterns, and is accented with stylized volutes on each corner while petite beads and waterleaves surround the central mirror plate.
