Large Trapezoidal Golden Wall Mirror With Engraved Diamond Pattern, Austria

A charming Mid-Century wall mirror from the 1950s, handcrafted in Vienna, Austria. The mirror stands out through its size, its unusual horizontal trapezoidal form, and, most notably, the finely engraved geometric diamond-grid pattern decorating the original mirror plate. The mirror glass is set within a restrained and elegant frame and is supported by three brackets positioned on the sides and at the bottom, which gives the mirror a light and elegant appearance while maintaining a visual presence.The frame is made of wood and finished in a gold-colored lacquer. Pleasingly, the original mirror glass has been preserved. It shows some signs of age, including a few small spots and minor losses to the silvering, all consistent with its age and use. We do not consider these imperfections to be flaws; rather, they contribute to the mirror’s authentic character and serve as charming evidence of its history. The mirror's elegant trapezoidal silhouette recalls designs by Gio Ponti. Measurements: 38" W × 22" H × 1" D.
