Early 19th Century Baroque Style Bridal Mirror
-
Description
This is a great example of a Baroque Style (c.1800-1830) Bridal walnut mirror. The original gold leaf has been stripped down to the frame's natural carved walnut, which has acquired its own natural patina. The floral carved elements are in good condition, with minor anticipated losses to leaf tips; the mirror plate is not original. Although petit in size this mirror would lend a giant visual impact to any space--even as a counterpoint to modern design.
