Description
Late 19th Century English Table Mirror in Patinated Brass
A late 19th-century neoclassical table mirror of high quality in patinated sand cast brass. Most probably English, late 19th century.
The oval mirror plate held within an adjustable frame with two decorative tightening wheels on either side. Raised on a wonderfully pierced scrollwork bracket that flows into a flared pedestal base with pad feet. A solid and heavy piece.
The both cast and pierced brass decoration on this mirror is restrained yet very elegant and the brass has developed a great patina. The mirror retains its original wooden backing board secured with small brass tabs.
Comes in a good and untouched condition with a desirable patina on the brass surfaces.
