Max Welz Vienna Art Nouveau Handcarved Giltwood Wall Mirror, Austria, 1930s
-
Description
A beautiful and rare Art Nouveau wall mirror from the 1930s, designed by Hans Welz for Max Welz, Vienna. Hans Welz, the nephew of Max Welz, was a student of Josef Hoffmann and also worked for the Wiener Werkstätte. The mirror is crafted from carved, gold-plated limewood adorned with floral ornaments. Remarkably it remains in good, unrestored original condition with age-appropriate wear that should not be seen as flaws, but rather as a testament to its authenticity and history.
