Osvaldo Borsani Painted and Gilded Wall Mirror, Milan, Italy, circa 1940
An exquisitely carved and gilded wood mirror from the 1940's with an intricately carved wood frame with gilding on the outside scalloped rim and border surrounding the shaped mirror plate, which mimics the design of the frame; with soft cream colored paint on the inside. An authentic Italian creation from the 1940's, designed by Borsani, this impressive grand-scale mirror is composed of an original mirror plate from the 1940's, enhanced by an exquisitely carved wooden frame, adorned with luminous gilded carved details. Of striking visual detail from every angle. A distinctive and elegant piece, the mirror reflects the unique style of the visionary Italian designer.
