Description
An incredible pair of reverse painted late 18th / Early 19th century Nuns' mirrors, probably southern Germany or Austrian. These stunning pieces are in superb original condition, one depicting the Holy Trinity, and the other Saint Martin.
As vanity, according to Catholic theology, was a deadly sin, Nuns had to use a special type of mirror in which they could not gaze fully.
