Description
A rare and magnificent indian silver, gold & jeweled palace mirror, certainly made for an Indian Maharaja, 19th century.
This palace size hand-hammered Indian mirror is made from pure silver. A truly exceptional work of art with floral design topped with miniatures structures depicting the Taj Mahal. Jeweled with semi-precious stones, including lapis lazuli, malachite, mother of pearl, mabe pearls ,rhodochrosite, amethyst, tigers eye, quartz crystal and accented with gold elements. Top features three affixed cut out gold monogram initials. Hand engraved cartouches with dancers and Taj Mahal building. All surrounding an oval shaped beveled mirror.
A truly unique and one of a kind piece.
Came from a private collection in Palm Beach, Florida.
Measures: 62" high x 55" wide
In very good condition, normal wear consistent with age and use. -
