Rustic Tramp Art Wall Mirror With , Handcarved, Austria circa 1880
-
Description
Striking Tramp Art mirror from the period around 1880 in Austria. This remarkable rustic wall mirror impresses with an artfully, absolutely elaborate handcarved design: the doubled frame with slightlyprotruding corners shows very delicate "notch cut" carvings (better known as "Tramp Art" style) whereby the resulting gap between those slim frames has been filled with extra mirror plates. Four square shaped wooden elements crafted in the so-called "pyramid" technique were additionally added in the center of all sides. This extraordinary design confers this late 19th century rustic Tramp Art mirror a real special look.
