Description
This elegant Mid Century Modern Venetian mirror was realized in France circa 1950. It offers a subtly smoked and antiqued perimeter- with a plain mirror center- that features rectangular panels on each side and on bottom with notched mirrored embellishments at each corner and translucent florets. The panels are inscribed with chain beveled detailing and reverse etching offering a wealth of geometric and floral neoclassical motifs. The top of the piece offers a scroll form banner, also with chain bevel and reverse etched neoclassical detailing, and is crowned by a panoply of mirrored stylized foliate pieces that create an elaborate garland. These plain mirror segments- including a circular form in center- are etched with foliate detailing including wreath motifs and stylized leaves and secured by translucent rivets. With its fastidious attention to detail and exquisite craftsmanship, this piece is as versatile as it is stunning blending with any style of interior from traditional to contemporary. Excellent vintage condition.
