Description
An elegant japanned chinoiserie mirror with an arched top and cushion frame with a bead around the exterior, having three re-silvered but original major beveled glass plates with two beveled glass bars separating the plates, touch-ups to decoration.
Height: 70” Width: 26”
Provenance: Penciled on back: Fetteresso Castle, Fetteresso Castle originated as a tower house built in the 14th Century in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
Late in the 17th century the Duff family controlled Fetteresso and expanded the building around the old tower house. -
