'Pair of Original Italian Mid-Century 'Lady' Chairs by Marco Zanuso & Arflex

$ 14,700
  • Description
    A Rare Pair of Original Italian Mid-Century Modern "Lady" Chairs / Lounge Chairs / Armchairs by Marco Zanuso for Arflex, Italy, circa 1951 with original upholstery.
    The chairs are set upon a set on boldly angled and tapered solid brass legs. The overall form is low, sensuous and organic modern; and these chairs are a visual treat, as well as being very comfortable.

    Marco Zanuso was one of the leaders of the Italian post-war design movement that thrust Italy as the leader 20th Century design in furniture and fashion. His bold but smooth and comfortable design statements became icons. These chairs echo Zanuso and transcend his aesthetic with their bold forms and. lines. Dimensions: H 31 x W 30.5 x D 30

Message from Seller:

T. Thomas Gargiulo came from a dual background as a Ph.D. in Psychology with extensive training in Art History and Anthropology to form Thomas Gallery in downtown Manhattan in 1997 to balance intellectual with design pursuits. Since its inception the gallery has seen decorative arts as a vibrant representation of human culture of each age and as a portal to understanding it. P: 917.434.4032 E: thomasgalleryltd@gmail.com
