Description
Swedish born Axel Larsson (1898-1975) was a well known interior architect and furniture designer who became the head of Bodofors' ( Svenska Möbelfabrikerna Bodafors’) in the 1930s. He was prolific and worked best in his signature refined taste for the mass-manufactured furniture market in Sweden. This chair is from 1936 and features a quilted leather sling seating over a classically simple mahogany frame that has been more recently painted red. Striking. there is wear to the seating - mostly at front.

Message from Seller:
FINCH hudson….. a unique and expertly curated collection of vintage and modern goods for the home – a spirit of timelessness and quality that combines the Hudson Valley’s centuries long tradition of local goods made by hand and made well with a spirit of space and living…not tethered to a single time or specific fashion. Its an understanding that a lifestyle is a collection that implicitly values the modern’s place with the traditional and that style is the union of good pieces
