Description
The Athens Lounge Chair by acclaimed designer Thomas Pheasant for Baker Furniture is an award-recognized piece, honored as a finalist in Interior Design Magazine’s “Best of Year” Awards. Inspired by the timeless klismos chair, a form that has evolved for centuries, Pheasant reimagines it with a bold, modern edge and extraordinary hand craftsmanship.
This tufted version exaggerates the sweeping silhouette and lean frame to striking effect, creating a design that is both sculptural and inviting. The solid mahogany frame is finished in a rich dark tone, perfectly offsetting the light blue-grey tufted velvet upholstery. Viewed from any angle, the chair’s refined lines make a dramatic statement, while the depth and pitch of the seat ensure exceptional comfort without visual bulk.
Custom-cast, ribbed bronze collars and capitals adorn the arms and legs, adding tactile detail and elevating the chair’s architectural presence. This combination of luxurious materials, timeless form, and contemporary refinement makes the Athens Lounge Chair an ideal choice for high-end residential, hospitality, or designer-curated interiors.
