Description
Large sculptural lounge chair with curving arms of mahogany stained oak, high formed back, tapering front legs and curved back legs. Reupholstered in velvet. Similar chair pictured in June 1938 "FORM" magazine on page 114.
Bertil Söderberg worked as an architect at his own firm Origo after graduating from the Higher Art Industrial School in 1926. He later worked for the Swedish Hemslöjd Association and was also for several years head of the design office at the Nordic Company's interior design department. As an interior designer, Söderberg often designed entire room interiors. His resume has several important prestige assignments. Among other things, interiors for L.M. Eriksson's office at the telephone level, interiors for the Academy of Sciences, the cinema Park in Stockholm and the ship m/s Saga launched in 1946 on the Gothenburg - London Line -
