Outstanding pair of Arts and Crafts armchairs designed by Carl Westman and crafted by the Eriksson Brothers Workshop (Bröderna Erikssons Möbelverkstad), having a striking frame with s-curve back and rectilinear front in oak, with new fleece covered cushioning; Sweden, 1900s.
Architect and interior designer Carl Westman (1866-1936), was a influential figure in the formation of the National Romanticism Style, a Swedish manifestation of the international Arts and Crafts Movement which adapted local building and furniture traditions. His most notable commissions include the Röhss Museum in Gothenburg (1910–1914) and the Stockholm Court House (1911–1915). -
