Description
This cerused Art Deco armchair was produced in France during the 1940s and reflects the restrained sophistication characteristic of late Art Deco seating design. Crafted in cerused oak, the chair is distinguished by its angular architectural frame, sculptural armrests, and subtly curved structural lines that soften the geometric composition. The cerused finish accentuates the natural grain of the wood, creating depth and texture while highlighting the precision of the craftsmanship. Warm velvet upholstery on the seat and backrest introduces a rich tonal contrast that enhances the refined balance between comfort and structure.
Positioned stylistically between Art Deco and early French modernism, the design illustrates the transition toward cleaner and more architectural forms that emerged during the period. The carefully balanced proportions and sculptural silhouette give the chair a strong visual presence while maintaining an understated elegance. Both functional and decorative, the piece integrates naturally into collectible interiors where material richness, craftsmanship, and timeless form remain central. Priced individually. - More Information
