The Chiavari chair underwent great productive and aesthetic development during the twentieth century. Among its most famous models—one that left an indelible mark on the history of furniture—is the “Tre Stecche” and its many derivations. Here we present the “Cinque Stecche,” a variant distinguished by the closely spaced sequence of five parallel slats on the backrest, still bearing echoes of Art Deco, which the manufacturer regarded as a synonym of elegance.

As with all Chiavari chairs, this model strikes for the simple yet perfect balance of its forms: refined and functional objects that can seamlessly adapt to any interior.

This fully restored set is made of beechwood. The curved elements of each chair were shaped using the traditional steam-bending technique, a detail that highlights the craftsmanship of historic Chiavari workshops. For the seats, an original weave of multicolored cords was chosen, resulting in a chair with an elegant yet irreverent character.
