Fabulous pair French Provincial armchairs carved wooden frames, cane backs, and orange silk taffeta plaid upholstery.
These are Louis XV style caned armchairs, specifically a type known as a fauteuil (an open-arm armchair). Louis XV or "French Provincial," characterized by curved, asymmetrical lines and cabriole legs. Note the ornate floral carvings on the top rail (crest) and front apron, and the graceful "S" curve of the cabriole legs.
Chairs measure 33"t x 22"w x 20"d with a seat height of 16"t.

Good vintage condition with minor age appropriate wear. Upholstery is older but is still clean and presentable. Some fading to loose back pillow-one side. Frames are tight and sturdy with an intentionally distressed finish-adds to vintage appeal.
